[195] Sitting Still

I found myself sitting still

amongst the noise outside my walls

of flesh and concrete

while angry hearts rule the world

birds align simply in form

and fly their course to warm

There's often pain in change

bringing us to a better place

yet not the kind that rips our spine.

Where did grace go

that gently combed the tangles

from grandma's graying mane?
